BDP-S185 ghosting with HD output

Hi all,

 

I've just bought a BDP-S185 and connected it to my Sony KDF-E50A12 LCD rear pro TV.

 

When I output at 720p or 1080i I get a weird ghosted image on screen. The image is kind of yellow and washed out and clearly doubled up. If I output at 576p it works OK, but I get quite bad overscan and lost some of the image top and bottom. Obviously I'd like just to sort out the HD output.

 

I've tried a couple of different, known working HDMI leads, but no change.

 

And help or ideas would be very much appreciated.

    Hi - Have you tested it on another TV, just to confirm the problem is on the Blu-ray player?

    Hi is the ghosting in purple, if so you will need to contact a service agent for an update, the HDMI systems have changed a lot since the launch of this set and a modification needs to be done by an engineer, no parts are required, but they need to change some settings in the service menu.

    Yeah, it is sort of purple-ish. Thanks so much for the hint.

     

    Any idea the best way to contact a specialist engineer who won't charge the Earth?
