Really want to use the laptop connection to view Netflix via my TV - any ideas on the best way to do it ?

It depends on what TV and laptop you have. If you laptop has hdmi as well as your TV then that will be the best way to connect them. If not, check that you have a pc input in your TV and video output in your laptop and check the type of connector you have for both of them.
